Planned

Farm activities & cooking

Hands-on, seasonal and unhurried — the heart of a stay at Nature Nest.

Sunrise farm walks

Watch the farm wake up: animals fed, eggs collected and herbs picked for breakfast.

Farm harvesting

Join the morning harvest in the vegetable beds and learn what is in season.

Animal feeding

Help feed the animals under the guidance of the farm team.

Fish feeding

Feed the fish at the pond and learn how it supports the farm’s water supply.

Orchard walks

Wander beneath mango, coconut and banana trees and taste fruit in season.

Herb garden experiences

Guided walks through the herb and spice garden, from curry leaf to lemongrass.

Plant-a-tree experiences

Plant a native tree on the estate and leave something growing behind.

Farm cooking experiences

Gather vegetables and eggs, then learn to cook Northern Sri Lankan dishes with estate-grown ingredients.

Planned

Nature & wellness

Quiet mornings, wide skies and the wildlife of the dry zone.

Birdwatching

Look out for wild birds around the pond, trees and gardens, especially in the early morning.

Nature trails

Walk the estate paths and learn about native plants, edible species and medicinal trees.

Cycling

Explore the estate’s perimeter paths and, in future, quiet routes nearby.

Yoga

Morning sessions on an open-air deck overlooking the gardens.

Campfire evenings

Gather around the fire for food, stories and music beneath a dark, starry sky.

Planned

Family experiences

Gentle, supervised activities that help children discover where food comes from.

Little farmers

Collect eggs, water the beds and help with simple farm tasks, always with an adult.

Bird & rabbit area

Supervised visits to a small animal area. Species will be chosen responsibly and in line with Sri Lankan law.

Seed to plate

Plant a seed, watch it grow and learn how a vegetable reaches the table.

Planned

Day visits

We plan to welcome day visitors for selected experiences. Arrangements will be announced in future.

Guided farm tours

A walk through the orchard, gardens, pond and livestock areas with the farm team.

Lunch at the restaurant

A farm-to-table meal in the open-air pavilion.

Educational farm visits

Visits for schools, colleges and groups, designed around learning about food and farming.

Future possibility

Events & groups

Possibilities we would like to explore once the estate is established.

Wellness retreats

Small retreats built around yoga, rest, nature and wholesome food.

School & educational groups

Structured farm learning days, with appropriate safeguarding in place.

Workshops

Cooking, farming and photography workshops in a farm setting.

Gatherings & celebrations

Small family gatherings and group occasions in the gardens and restaurant.
